Event Information

The Air New Zealand Koru Club Pro-Am

Is a real fun format and now in its 16th year. This event is extremely popular and sells out every year. The tournament is played at the Sheraton Denarau Golf Course on Denarau Island. Denarau Island is the premier resort area of Fiji, only 20 minutes drive from Nadi International airport there are 8 international hotels, golf, tennis and marine village with many bars restaurant and shops.

The pro-am is played over two rounds on the 1st and 2nd of June, the amateurs playing in the event will play a round at the fantastic Natadola Bay course the day before the pro-am.

The Natadola Bay pro-am

Played on the international VJ Singh inspired layout, a great test of golf and by far the best championship golf course in the South Pacific Islands. The course is around 45 minutes drive from Denarau Island. The pro-am will be played in carts.

The Shangri-La Fijian Resort Hotel

Considered by many as the best resort in Fiji, set on a 100 acre Island only 15 minutes drive from Natadola Bay or an hour from Nadi Airport.

Fiji’s biggest hotel, every room overlooks the lagoon or ocean, great beach, 5 restaurants and bars, Spa, all water sports, tennis and 9 hole executive golf course designed by Peter Thompson.

Many of the pro’ and amateurs will stay here when playing the Natadola and Fijian hotel pro-am’s before heading to Pacific Harbour for the Fiji Open.

The Fiji Open

Played at the Pearl Golf course at Pacific Harbour. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, and has hosted numerous events including the Eisenhower Trophy back in the 70’s. Fantastic course layout unfortunately the condition of the course deteriorated over a number of years but new owners have been making improvements to rejuvenate the course. The tournament will be played over 54 holes. There is various accommodation available in the area; we have a special tournament rate for players at the Pearl Hotel which is on the beach and close to the course.

The Starwood Golf Classic

The final and biggest event on the Fiji tour, $100,000 in professional prize money and $30,000 in amateur prizes. The event will be played over 72 holes, two rounds at Natadola Bay and two rounds at Denarau golf course.

This is predominately a pro-team’s event, with one pro and three amateurs in each group. The group will play together for all 4 rounds. We are encouraging professionals from NZ and Australia to organise a team of three amateur friends or club members to travel and play with them, however for those amateurs or professionals who enter individually we will make up teams.

Apart from the individual amateur prizes and professional prize money the winning team members in the gross and net competitions will win free entry to the 2013 event including accommodation and the full tournament entry package.

As a condition of entry to the Starwood Classic all players must buy the event entry package and stay at the Sheraton or Westin Hotels during the tournament. See full information on this event on our web site.
