FATHER & SON GOLF CLASSIC 2010

November 5th - 7th

The Tournament

New Zealand’s first Father & Son Golf Classic took place in Queenstown in 2006.
The tournament was a great success with some of the countries most celebrated golfers taking part both professional and amateur.

The tournament concept has been extremely popular in America for many years with an annual event in Florida hosting over 1500 players.

You may have seen Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Johnny Miller, Greg Norman plus many other famous names playing with their sons in the annual Father & Son tournament made for TV.
This years New Zealand Tournament will be played at the Lakes Resort Championship course in Pauanui on November 5th and 6th.

Tournament Program

  • Friday 5th November.
    Arrive at Lakes Resort, 6.30pm welcome cocktail party and BBQ.
  • Saturday 6th November:
    Round One of the Father & Son Golf Classic. To be followed by the tournament dinner.
  • Sunday 7th November:
    Final round of the Father & Son Golf Classic, to be followed by lunch and prize presentation.

Competition

The Father & Son teams will play a best ball, gross and net competition over the two rounds of competition.
The major prizes will be awarded to the overall 36 hole Gross and Net winners.
There will also be daily net and gross competitions.

Who Can Play

The tournament is open to Amateur and Professional golfers
Teams can consist of the following combinations…
Father & Son-- Grandfather & Grandson-- Stepfather & Stepson-- Father in Law & Son in Law.

The Golf Course

Lakes Resort golf course is regularly listed in the top six championship course in New Zealand and plays host to the one of the countries leading professional tournaments the annual Legends Charity Pro-Am. The course was also the venue for 2010 Australia v New Zealand Legends Test match which saw the greats of Australasian golf going head to head ,including major winners Sir Bob Charles, Wayne Grady and Rodger Davis and Bob Shearer to name a few.

Entries are limited to the first 110 teams entered.
